I'm Jenna; I am the Mom, wife, daughter and friend behind Serenity Ranch Retreat. I have always loved animals and dreamed of one day having a small farm. I grew up in the Army and my husband, Thomas, is prior army as well, so we moved... a lot! I still managed to bring home all kinds of animals growing up and wanted to bring in any stray I found. My love for animals has been a part of me since I was little. I've been a kennel tech, vet assistant, dog walker, pet sitter, horseback riding instructor and adoption center manager. I was able to fulfill some bucket list dreams when I had a chance to work with the ASPCA on their medical team at emergency shelters in Ohio and Florida.

Years ago, I took our Akita through the Red Cross animal therapy training program to become a therapy dog and we would visit nursing homes and deployment ceremonies for soldiers. It was amazing seeing how much happiness being around the dogs would bring to those who needed it.

2 years ago we found our land after searching for months. We asked my parents to buy the lot next to us so we could start a family ranch. We now have 23 acres and our girls, Juliana (4) and Elizabeth (8 months) has the chance to grow up with their grandparents. My dad is a retired microbiologist and the teacher behind elemental explorers. my mom is a nurse and works from home. 

At the same time we found our land, I started volunteering for Peaceful Acres, a local horse rescue. Through volunteering I was able to find space for myself again. I had gotten lost in motherhood and started to enjoy some me time again. they are also where we adopted our 3 horses, 1 pony and 2 donkeys from.

I believe animals can heal the mind, body and soul. I'm excited to share with you a little piece of our lives and give others what I was searching for, for a long time. A community of friendship and animal companionship. I want this to be a place where everyone can come and feel included. We are just a little family ranch, trying to spread kindness and give back to our community.

You will always find me in my stretchy pants with a messy bun and our girls, Jules and elle at my side. I didn't grow up in this life and I am learning every day. I watch a lot of how-to videos!
